Spread the Word: Shopping Local vs. Amazon Makes a Difference

Do the people in your area realize that where they spend their home improvement dollars makes a significant impact on their communities?

When homeowners, other DIYers and professionals shop at your store or other independent home improvement businesses, seven times more money stays local than when they make the same purchase on Amazon.

The North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) has created free marketing materials to help you get the word out to your customers.

The posters, press release and other marketing resources promote the results from a recent study titled Home Sweet Home: Locals vs. Amazon, which the North American Retail Hardware Association, Independent We Stand and the Paint and Decorating Retailers Association commissioned.

The study found that a customer’s decision to shop local for home improvement products makes a big difference locally. Click here to read the full story from the June 2018 issue of Hardware Retailing and access the complete study here.

In an effort to help you spread the word to your customers, business peers and local media outlets, NRHA created the following materials.

  • Posters
  • Infographic
  • Social media graphics
  • Customizable press release

Simply fill out the form below to access these free resources.

Prior to Home Sweet Home: Locals vs. Amazon, NRHA and Independent We Stand conducted and released the original Home Sweet Home Study and the Home Sweet Home: Pros’ Edition. Follow the links below to download more free shop-local themed signage.
