The Inspired Home Show, the landmark event that unites top retailers, suppliers and industry professionals to discover what’s new and next, will take place at Chicago’s McCormick Place March 9–11, 2027, for its 127th year. Organized by the International Housewares Association (IHA), this year will be the final time the show will take place in Chicago.
“The Inspired Home Show provides a vital in-person platform for discovering innovation, building partnerships and advancing the industry,” says IHA president & CEO Derek Miller. “As our industry evolves, the show will evolve with it. 2027 marks a significant milestone for IHA as we bring the industry together to honor and celebrate the event’s legacy in Chicago before embarking on our next chapter in 2028.”
An estimated 2,000 brands will be represented at the 2027 Chicago Show, and a reimagined show floor will feature a dynamic experience for buyers and sellers. The industry’s core categories—Clean + Contain, Dine + Décor and Wired + Well—will be in the South Hall, while the North Hall will feature global manufacturing and sourcing.
New to the show this year are The Innovation District, which will bring together three show elements—Inventors Corner, gia Student Design Winners and Education Programming—and The Discovery Park, which will transform the Debut Incubator, Candle Pavilion, Pet Products Pavilion and SPLiCE Licensing Hub into a park-inspired area celebrating new business opportunities.
The show floor will also be home to popular attractions including the Pantone® ColorWatch Display, Buyers Club/New Product Showcase, the New Exhibitor Showcase & Lounge, gia Retail Display & Lounge, Business Center and a café, offering space for discovery and networking.
“In today’s highly competitive landscape, The Inspired Home Show 2027 will offer buyers and sellers a crucial opportunity to get a leg up on the latest trends and opportunities,” says IHA board chairman Tom McMahon, who also serves as president of JURA Inc. “It’s also one of the few North American events where brands can connect face-to-face with the industry’s most influential buyers while gaining valuable media and promotional exposure.”
Consumer media coverage, social media promotion and creator commerce will be a key focus at the 2027 Show. The Inspired Home Show 2026 generated more than 645 million media impressions from close to 200 print, broadcast, digital and social media professionals. Journalists in attendance represented outlets such as The New York Times/Wirecutter, News Nation, Yahoo, Lifehacker, Buzzfeed, Real Simple, CNN Underscored, Forbes, Good Housekeeping, Food Network Magazine, HGTV Magazine, Apartment Therapy, The Kitchn and Wired.
IHA recently announced the strategic decision to partner with ANDMORE to co-locate The Inspired Home Show alongside Winter Atlanta Market at AmericasMart Atlanta starting in January 2028. The move will bring the Show into a permanent, cross-category marketplace model for the first time in its history, adding year-round showrooms to its tradeshow presence.
Before that move, the final Chicago event will celebrate the industry’s legacy and impact in the city. Chicago has provided The Inspired Home Show with a premier destination for the industry to gather and grow since 1938, starting at the Palmer House Hotel, then moving to the International Amphitheater, Navy Pier and ultimately, McCormick Place.
