rK MILES Acquires Varney & Smith Lumber Company

rK MILES recently announced it has acquired Varney & Smith Lumber Company, a lumberyard and building materials supplier located in Lisbon, N.H.

“This is a good fit for both companies,” says Joe Miles, CEO of rk MILES. “Varney & Smith has deep roots in its community and a well-earned reputation for service. Our intent is to build on that foundation, support the existing team and continue serving customers in a way that respects how business is done locally.” 

As part of the transaction, rK MILES plans to introduce Marvin Windows and Doors to the northern New Hampshire market. The previous owner of Varney & Smith Lumber, Ed Carbonneau, will remain involved during the transition and all existing employees are expected to remain with the business.
