Sherwin-Williams and Lowe’s have announced a new and exclusive collaboration.
Lowe’s is becoming “the only nationwide home center to offer top-selling stain brands” from Sherwin-Williams, including Minwax, Cabot and Thompson’s WaterSeal, according to Lowe’s.
The big-box chain is also going to be the exclusive national home center to sell the paint company’s Purdy paint sundries and Krylon spray paint, Lowe’s reports.
“Sherwin-Williams is one of the most recognized brands for paint and highly respected for quality products by both do-it-yourselfers and professional customers,” says Michael McDermott, Lowe’s chief customer officer, in a Feb. 28 statement. “We are proud to expand the partnership and bring customers more of the industry’s top brands for their next paint project.”
As part of the agreement, Lowe’s will ease out of selling many paint brands that are unrelated to Sherwin-Williams products, USA Today reports.
Lowe’s plans to update its stores’ paint departments nationwide by midyear, the company says.
In addition, Sherwin-Williams will “become the only nationwide supplier to Lowe’s U.S. retail outlets for interior and exterior paints,” according to Lowe’s.
“We are excited to expand the partnership with Lowe’s to deliver a simplified paint and stain line that is designed to make it easier for customers to buy and associates to sell,” says Aaron Erter, president and general manager of Sherwin-Williams’ consumer brands division.
Sherwin-Williams owns a variety of businesses, including the Valspar paint company, and is headquartered in Cleveland.
