Do it Best Corp. Recognized for Information Technology Work

An ongoing commitment to mobile technology and app development in 2013 earned Do it Best Corp. a spot in a list of the top business technology innovators in the U.S.

InformationWeek, a leading publication of the business technology community, placed Do it Best Corp. in its Elite 100 annual rankings, recognizing in particular the co-op’s development and implementation of a dedicated app for its Sneak Peek sales events at its May and October markets. The Sneak Peek app streamlined the selection and ordering process for members and participating vendors; it also saw significant adoption numbers, accounting for 84 percent of the October market’s Sneak Peek event’s total overall sales. With the app, orders that previously had to be entered manually and could take up to four weeks to officially log are now recorded immediately and in real-time.

Do it Best Corp. ranked 62nd in the Elite 100 overall rankings. The co-op is one of only two Indiana companies on the list and the only hardware distributor to earn a spot.

“This is a great honor for our entire team here at Do it Best Corp., and it is recognition for the incredible effort and energy everyone here invests in enhancing our operations through technology,” said Mike Altendorf, vice president of IT for Do it Best Corp. “Specifically, our Sneak Peek app has been a great advancement for everyone involved. For vendors, it significantly reduces paperwork and virtually eliminates the number of missed orders. Most importantly, it’s been incredibly beneficial to our members by further improving our operational efficiency as a co-op.”
