Curbside: A Convenient Option for Busy Consumers

Last week, Curbside, a startup, free app began making strides towards a more mobile retail environment. According to an article in USA Today, Curbside is beginning in San Francisco Bay area and has plans to expand to 15 markets across the nation in 2015.

The app will allow users to shop at its retail partners through the app as well as paying for the items. The article explains that once a user selects and pays for the products on the phone, it is packaged up and ready at the store. While 10 Target stores in the San Francisco area will allow users to drive up and have the order handed over, other retailers will have the products available to pick up inside.

With apps like this leaning towards a more mobile retail environment, promoting in-store pick up options can help independent home improvement retailers compete with their competitors. Make sure your customers know about these options if they are available in your store.
