Maine Hardware Stores Launch Register Round-Up for Robbins Lumber Fire Relief

Damariscotta Hardware and Randolph Hardware recently announced a round up campaign to help support those affected by the recent fire and explosion at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont, Maine.

The fundraiser gives customers the opportunity to round up their purchases at checkout, with donations being matched by store co-owner Rob Gardiner and directed through the Maine Strong Memorial Foundation to support relief efforts.

“When something like this happens in Maine, it affects all of us, especially those of us in the independent hardware and lumber community,” says Rob Gardiner, co-owner of Damariscotta Hardware and Randolph Hardware. “Robbins Lumber has served this state for generations, and our hearts are with the first responders, the Robbins family, their employees and everyone impacted. This round-up gives our customers a simple way to help, and we’re proud to match those donations through the Maine Strong Memorial Foundation.”

The Register Round-Up fundraiser is currently available at both Damariscotta Hardware, located at 423 Main Street in Damariscotta, and Randolph Hardware, located at 244 Water Street in Randolph. Customers who wish to participate can simply ask to round up their purchase at checkout. The campaign will run through June 6.

“Independent hardware stores and lumberyards are more than businesses. They are part of the fabric of their communities,” Gardiner says. “We know many of our customers have been looking for a way to help, and we are grateful for every contribution, large or small.”
