Westlake Ace Hardware has announced plans to open a new store in Kansas City’s historic Brookside neighborhood.
Westlake Ace is leasing a 6,600-square-foot retail space for the store and will have a soft opening in late 2020 or early 2021. When the Brookside location opens, Westlake will have 22 stores in the Kansas City metro area for a total of 141 stores in 12 states.
The chain previously announced plans to build a store in Lenexa, Kansas, which is slated to open in summer 2021. That location will be Westlake’s 23rd store in the metro area.
“Kansas City is our home and we know that the Brookside neighborhood rightfully holds a very special place in the hearts and minds of many people in the metro area,” says Joe Jeffries, president and CEO of Westlake Ace Hardware. “That’s why it’s so exciting to see our long-held dream of opening a Brookside store become a reality.”
Headquartered in the Kansas City area, the Westlake Ace Hardware chain is 115 years old. It has been part of the Ace Hardware Cooperative since 1959, and a wholly owned Ace Hardware subsidiary since 2012.
