Pleasants Hardware celebrated the grand opening of its new Richmond, Virginia, location on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The opening marks the fourth new store added since Taylor’s Do it Center acquired Pleasants Hardware in 2016. Since the acquisition, the company has grown the Pleasants Hardware brand from seven locations to 11, alongside 11 Taylor’s Do it Center stores, totaling 22 locations.
The celebration included special discounts and giveaways throughout the day, along with the company’s traditional board cutting ceremony, live demos from Big Green Egg, Broil King and STIHL and consultations with Benjamin Moore, Midwest Fastener and Scotts Lawn Care.
“We’re proud of the track record of our company in opening our 22nd location in today’s competitive marketplace,” says Joe Taylor, president and CEO of Pleasants Hardware and Taylor’s Do it Center. “We’re excited to be celebrating that as we head into our 100th year in business in 2027.”
The 15,000-square-foot store is located in the Oxbridge Square Shopping Center in Chesterfield County, part of the greater Richmond area.
“This is the fourth new store we’ve opened since 2016, and each one continues to raise the bar,” says Darrell Campbell, general manager of Pleasants Hardware. “From our incredible team to our partnership with Do it Best, we’ve been able to leverage their store design expertise, merchandising assistance and generous discounts that helped us open ahead of schedule and deliver a better experience for our customers.”
