Westlake Ace Hardware has announced its plan to acquire three Haggerty Ace Hardware locations across New York.
Haggerty Ace Hardware currently operates locations in Cooperstown, Delhi and Walton, New York. Westlake Ace expects the deal to be completed by January 2020.
In a statement, Westlake Ace says the acquisition will be “a seamless transition of ownership and the stores will retain management, store personnel and the current product mix.”
Westlake Ace president and CEO Joe Jeffries says the company is excited to expand its operations into New York and will uphold Haggerty’s tradition of superior customer service.
“The acquisition is the latest example of the positive upward trajectory Westlake Ace Hardware has been on for the past several years,” Jeffries says. “And as we grow, our goal will never change—to show our new neighbors and customers how we live the Ace Helpful Promise every day by delivering reliable service, helpful advice and products to help them get their projects done right.”
Jeff and Wanda Haggerty, current owners of Haggerty Ace Hardware, opened Haggerty Ace Hardware in Cooperstown in 1992. They say they will miss their longtime employees and customers, but “are thrilled that Westlake Ace is dedicated to … a smooth transition, keeping our associates in place and offering them career growth opportunities.”
Westlake Ace has been part of the Ace Cooperative since 1959, and a wholly owned Ace subsidiary since 2012. Westlake Ace Hardware owns and operates more than 130 stores across the U.S. In 2015, the company celebrated more than a century of hardware operation.
