The U.S. economy added 147,000 jobs in June, according to recent data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, up slightly from May’s numbers.
The unemployment rate was 4.1%, down slightly from 4.2% in May and remaining in the narrow range of 4.0% to 4.2% since May 2024.
Average hourly earnings rose by 0.2% in June to $36.30, with the labor force participation rate changing little, reaching 62.3% last month. Employment also showed little change over the month in the construction industry.
As economic conditions continue to change in the U.S. due to policy changes from President Donald Trump, the effects on the U.S. job market remain uncertain.
