True Value announced today the restructuring of its supply chain, logistics and global distribution network and the addition of three new executives to its leadership team. The move was spurred by the company’s strategic goals to increase profitability for existing retailers and attract new retail operators who will proliferate new stores in the Destination True Value format. Changes become effective Wednesday.
Abhinav Shukla was hired as senior vice president and chief operating officer. A former business consultant, Shukla has experience in improving financial and operational performance and global supply chain management.
The organization appointed Tim Mills senior vice president for growth. Mills has a background in hardware sales, operations and strategic development.
Taking over for retiring senior vice president and chief marketing officer Mike Clark, the organization hired Ken Goodgame, formerly of Ace Hardware.
The Destination True Value model is at the heart of the co-op’s strategic goals. With more than 4,000 independent retailers globally, True Value has pledged financial support for the expansion of the DTV model.
“I am focusing the entire organization on the future of the independent community hardware retailer to ensure their viability for years to come,” said True Value President and CEO John Hartmann, who joined the co-op in May.
