Tractor Supply Company, a Tennessee-based rural lifestyle retailer with over 2,200 locations across the U.S. reported financial results for its fourth quarter and fiscal 2024.
Q4 2024
The company showed a Q4 net sales increase of 3.1%. Comparable store sales increased 0.6% with an average transaction size increasing by 2.3%.
The increase in net sales was driven by new store openings and growth in comparable store sales, driven by an increase in transaction size. The growth of consumable, usable and edible products was in line with the chain average as positive unit growth was offset by average unit price pressure.
Gross profit increased 2.8% from $1.29 billion to $1.33 billion year over year.
Selling, general and administrative expenses (SG&A) increased 5.5% from $958.8 million to $1.01 billion. The increase in SG&A expenses is attributed to planned growth investments, including higher depreciation and the onboarding of new distribution center employees.
Tractor Supply reported an operating income of $318.3 million in Q4 2024, down from $334.2 million year over year.
