spoga+gafa 2020: Green, Trendy and Sustainable

Once again presenting all facets of the garden theme, spoga+gafa returns to Cologne, Germany from September 6-8, 2020. Over three days, around 2,200 exhibitors from 60 countries will present their innovations and new products to the trade audience.

“The fact that we have recorded such a good number of applications comparable to the previous year level in spite of the prevailing situation, indicates that the green industry is optimistic that we will return to the new normality. It is thus our declared aim to open the trade fair on the planned date,” says Oliver Frese, chief operating officer of Koelnmesse GmbH. “The exhibitors are showing high interest in the event. Hence, we feel it is important to hold on to spoga+gafa as a vital platform of the green industry. We will lay down and implement criteria and measures that make this possible.”

Koelnmesse has a task force working with local and federal agencies to develop safety procedures and event operational guidelines. While keeping an eye on the current situation, Koelnmesse is preparing for a successful spoga+gafa this autumn.

NRHA covered last year’s spoga+gafa where urban gardening trends were highlighted. This year’s key theme, “Sustainable Gardens,” will be presented in an in-depth manner in collaboration with exhibitors and experts. This theme is presented across all segments of spoga+gafa and will be realized with the exhibitors in the run up to, during and after the show. Together, the trade fair participants pose the question as to how sustainable the garden has to be and whether the expectations of the market players are coherent with those of their customers.

The POS Green Solution Islands offer inspiration and examples of implementation for the campaign surfaces of garden centers and DIY stores. This year’s POS Green Solution Island themes are “Gardens Close to Nature—Outdoor Living” and “Living Close to Nature—Indoor Gardening.”

Garden living is traditionally the largest product segment of spoga+gafa, and new exhibitors are on board for the 2020 show. Suppliers of garden furniture and decoration are the largest products groups, and they will be accompanied by garden equipment, sports, games, camping and leisure.

Visitors to spoga+gafa can also experience exclusive presentations from the Outdoor Living section. The focal point will be premium outdoor brands and big names for unique, high-quality garden furniture. The Outdoor Furniture and Decoration Trend Show will demonstrate pioneering garden industry design to attendees.

Other product segments featured at the show include garden creation and care and grills and BBQs in Outdoor Kitchen World. In addition, the company GARDENA will present the three finalists of the GARDENA garden award.
