Siwek Lumber announced Dave Siwek, 3rd-generation owner, has officially retired from daily business operations. Fourth-generation family members Samantha Siwek and Jason Pranghofer will take over operations as chief administrative officer and CEO, respectively.
The company released a statement as part of the transition:
“Like every transition in a family business, this one represents both change and continuity. Over the past five years, Dave, Jason and Samantha have worked intentionally toward this transition, gradually shifting leadership and responsibility to the fourth generation. Jason and Samantha have been leading the day-to-day business for some time, and Sept. 4 marks the formal completion of that process.”
“After a lifetime in the lumber business, it is difficult to put into words what Siwek Lumber and all of you who have supported it have meant to me,” says Dave Siwek, in a statement to customers. “Our family has had the privilege of serving you for generations. We could not have built the business we have today without the employees, customers, contractors, vendors and friends who placed their trust in us year after year. Some of you have done business with our family for decades and across multiple generations of your own families and businesses. I am incredibly grateful for that loyalty and friendship.”
Samantha Siwek and Pranghofer also released a statement as they step into their new roles:
“We are incredibly grateful to Dave for the business he has helped build, the example he has set, and the time he has invested over the past five years preparing us to lead Siwek Lumber into its next generation. We also recognize that Siwek Lumber is bigger than any one generation of our family. It has been built through generations of family leadership, employees who cared about doing the job right, and customers who trusted Siwek Lumber with their homes, businesses and livelihoods.”
