Monroe Hardware Spring Dealer Market Exceeds Expectations

Attendance at the Monroe Hardware Spring Dealer Market at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord, NC, surpassed previous records. The convention staff had to scramble to handle overflow at the annual breakfast buying bonanza and Keith Driscoll, director of purchasing, confirmed that customers were standing in line at nearly every booth.

Monroe’s two annual shows attract a majority of the company’s 2,500 customers and top 300 manufacturers. The Concord show in February helps retailers prepare for the spring season, who, according to the busy exhibitors, are more upbeat about the economy.

Retailer Denise Stroud, of Woodrow Jones Parts in Pink Hill, NC, has missed only one Monroe market in the past 20 years. “Not only do we take advantage of the sharp pricing, but we find something new every time we come,” she says.

Denise is looking forward to Monroe’s September show in Myrtle Beach, SC. “We’re going to make our reservation right away to be sure we don’t get left out,” she says.

For more information about the September show, contact Keith Driscoll at 704 289-3121 or kdriscoll@monroehardware.com.
