Lowe’s Orchard Supply Hardware to Expand in Florida

Lowe’s is taking its Orchard Supply Hardware chain to Southern Florida.

The home improvement retailer has Orchard Supply stores in the works for Deerfield Beach, Coral Springs and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

The initial Florida location in Deerfield Beach will be Orchard Supply’s first store outside of California and Oregon.

Lowe’s had already publicized its intentions to expand the chain. The big-box retailer bought the chain out of bankruptcy in 2013, and expected to grow Orchard Supply’s store count from 76 to 85 in 2016, the Charlotte Business Journal reported earlier this year. Lowe’s is headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Bob Tellier, president of Orchard Supply, has said that the company was predicting 33 percent new store growth.
