In an ever-increasing technological world, cybersecurity attacks can impact any business. The Hiscox Cyber Readiness Report 2022 shows that 48% of organizations across the U.S. and Europe experienced a cyber attack in the past 12 months, despite businesses expanding their cybersecurity budgets. In an effort to arm businesses with the tools and resources they need to fight cybersecurity risks, the Alan B. Levan|NSU Broward Center of Innovation (Levan Center) houses a purpose-built, military-grade cybersecurity range consisting of a 1,500 square feet closed network.
The center is designed to serve the community including industry, government and academia, in the development of cybersecurity strategies and training and is located on the Nova Southeastern University campus in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
John Wensveen serves as the chief innovation officer of Nova Southeastern University and executive director of the Levan Center, which is working to fill the cyber skills talent gap by collaborating with industry and government partners to develop short-term training opportunities.
Programs help support the various roles within the cybersecurity industry including, but not limited to, intelligence, operations, security operations, security services and administrative levels. The program initiatives provide a space for industry and government entities to up-skill current teams, conduct tabletop exercises and assess team members or potential candidates on their skills and areas of expertise.
