Home Hardware Earns Distinction of Canada’s Most Trusted Home Retailer

For the second year in a row, Home Hardware Stores Limited received the honor of Canada’s Most Trusted Home Retailer in the 2022 Gustavson Brand Trust Index (GBTI). The company placed first in the Home, Office and Garden Retailers category and was third on the Canada’s Top 10 Most Trusted Brands list.

“To be named Canada’s Most Trusted Home Retailer for the second consecutive year and one of the Most Trusted Brands in Canada is a true honor for Home Hardware,” says Kevin Macnab, president and CEO of Home Hardware Stores Limited. “The independent dealer-owners of our close to 1,100 stores across the country have always been committed to helping customers with their home renovation projects, big or small. This recognition is a testament to not only the exceptional service our dealers strive to provide each day, but to the strong relationships they have built in their communities.”

The University of Victoria’s Peter B. Gustavson School of Business releases the GBTI rankings each year after surveying more than 9,000 Canadians on 402 national and global brands and 10 regional brands in 33 categories. The survey measures overall brand trust, looking at brand authenticity, brand ability and brand affinity.

“Our research reinforces the notion that Canadians have an acute awareness of whether a brand is truly responsive to their needs,” says Saul Klein, dean of Gustavson School of Business. “Home Hardware is an iconic Canadian brand that continues to earn the trust of consumers, making it a retailer of choice when it comes to the home improvement needs of Canadians.”

Home Hardware Stores was also recently named one of Canada’s most reputable companies in Leger’s 25th annual Reputation study, where the company ranked 40th.
