One Home Hardware Stores Limited worker drove away with a special anniversary gift — a new car.
Home Hardware Stores Limited employee Paul Demeuleneare won the 2015 Toyota Corolla in the company’s 50th Anniversary Staff Sweepstakes this month, according to a press release by Home Hardware Stores Limited of Canada.
Demeuleneare’s name was drawn from among more than 2,000 corporate employee names that were automatically entered in the sweepstakes, which the company organized to celebrate the Home Hardware Stores Limited 50th anniversary. The sweepstakes was an opportunity to thank staff for years of loyal service in all locations across Canada, the press release says.
“As we wrap up our 50th anniversary celebrations, it seemed appropriate to celebrate with our staff,” CEO Terry Davis says in the press release.
“Home Hardware is only able to provide quality service and support to our dealer-owners across Canada with the help of our extraordinary staff who are dedicated to our mission of helping independent retailers succeed.”
The staff gift wasn’t the first car the company gave away as part of celebrating its anniversary. Home Hardware gave away a Toyota Tundra to a dealer-owner at its annual spring market and in the summer awarded a Toyota Highlander to a customer in a sweepstakes.
The 50th Anniversary Staff Sweepstakes included a Toyota Corolla as a grand prize, as well as airline miles to be redeemed for a round trip of choice and two big screen TVs.
