Home Depot Net Sales Drop 3.8% in Q4 2025, Up Year Over Year

The Home Depot released its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2025 and the fiscal year of 2025, reporting net sales for the quarter at $38.2 billion, a 3.8% decrease year over year.

Comparable sales for the fourth quarter increased 0.4%, and comparable sales in the U.S. increased 0.3%. Net earnings for the company were $2.6 billion for Q4, or $2.58 per diluted share, down from Q4 2024, which saw $3 billion in net earnings.

Net sales for fiscal 2025 were $164.7 billion, up 3.2% from fiscal 2024. Comparable sales for the year increased 0.3%, and comparable sales in the U.S. increased 0.5%. Fiscal 2025’s net earnings were $14.2 billion, or $14.23 per diluted share. This is down from fiscal 2024’s $14.8 billion, or $14.91 per diluted share. At the end of the fourth quarter, the company operated a total of 2,359 retail stores and over 1,250 SRS locations across the U.S.

“Throughout fiscal 2025, our teams did an incredible job engaging with our customers and growing market share, and I would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication,” says Ted Decker, chair, president and CEO. “For the fourth quarter, our results were largely in line with our expectations, reflecting the lack of storm activity in the third quarter and ongoing consumer uncertainty and pressure in housing. Adjusting for storms, underlying demand was relatively stable throughout the year.”

The company also provided guidance for fiscal 2026. Total sales are expected to grow approximately 2.5% to 4.5%, while comparable sales growth is expected to remain flat or reach up to 2.0%. Diluted earnings per share are planned to see flat to 4.0% growth next year. Home Depot also plans to open around 15 new stores in 2026
