Friedman’s Home Improvement recently hosted its 30th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, benefitting Schools Plus, a local nonprofit. This year, the event raised $140,000 for schools in Sonoma County, California.
“The work of Schools Plus makes a direct impact on children in our community and we’re proud to continue our longstanding partnership,” says Barry Friedman, Friedman’s president and CEO. “Our vendor partners come from near and far to support this event each year, which is a testament to what we can accomplish together when business leaders rally behind a shared cause—supporting and strengthening our local schools. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of the tournament over the past 30 years, allowing us to empower future generations.”
Schools Plus funds enrichment programs, like sports, drama, music and the arts, for students in the Santa Rosa City Schools District.
“All of us at Santa Rosa City Schools are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support and generosity of Schools Plus,” says Andrea Correia, principal of Piner High School. “As someone who has served in this district for 26 years, I’ve had the privilege of watching the Schools Plus vision grow from an ambitious idea into a powerhouse of community support. Their tireless efforts, particularly through the annual golf tournament, have directly benefited students across the district. At Piner alone, we’ve received more than $100,000 to support our athletics and visual and performing arts programs. Schools Plus truly carried us through the lean years and continues to stand by our students and programs without hesitation.”
