Do it Best Group VP Receives 2026 Empower Award

Do it Best Group vice president of human resources Celeste Stevens has received the 2026 Indiana Women’s Collaborative Empower Award, recognizing her leadership, advocacy and impact in helping others grow and succeed.

Presented by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce during the Indiana Women’s Collaborative luncheon in Indianapolis, the Empower Award honors women who create opportunities for others, encourage women to lead and grow and strengthen their organizations and communities.

For Stevens, the recognition marks the latest milestone in a 21-year career with Do it Best Group. She joined the company in 2005 as an hourly team member in its Mesquite, Nevada, distribution center and advanced through operational and human resources leadership roles before being named vice president of human resources in December 2025.

“Celeste’s career is an extraordinary example of what can happen when talent, determination and a genuine commitment to people come together,” says Nick Talarico, Do it Best Group COO. “But what makes her such an exceptional leader is how many people she has helped move forward along the way. She sees potential in others, creates opportunities for them to grow and builds teams where people know their contributions matter.”

Stevens has played a central role in some of the most significant organizational changes in Do it Best Group history. Following the acquisition of True Value in November 2024, she helped stabilize its human resources operations and led the integration of the Do it Best and True Value HR teams, bringing together people, processes and systems while building a unified culture.

Throughout her career, Stevens has made leadership development and mentorship a priority. She is known for challenging team members to pursue new opportunities, recognizing individual contributions and helping people develop their skills and advance their careers.

After moving into human resources in 2011, Stevens held roles in HR administration, leadership training and management before becoming human resources director in 2023. She was named vice president of human resources for True Value following the acquisition in 2024 and vice president of human resources for Do it Best Group in 2025.

“Leadership is about helping people see what’s possible for themselves and then giving them the support and opportunities to get there,” Stevens says. “I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to have people who believed in me and gave me opportunities to grow. Being able to do that for others is one of the most meaningful parts of my work. I’m incredibly honored to receive this recognition.”
