Do it Best Awards Intern Scholarship

Do it Best wrapped its 2024 summer internship program with a $1,000 scholarship awarded to intern Ethan Schrek, a business analytics and applied computational mathematic and statistics student at University of Notre Dame.

The internship program provides students with the resources they need to explore their career interests and learn in a team environment. Students are paired with a cross-divisional mentor along with a designated supervisor to collaborate on weekly projects, professional development activities, networking and volunteer opportunities.

“For students, internships bridge the gap between what they learn in the classroom and real-life experience,” says talent acquisition specialist Karissa Shepherd. “Our internship program provides students with the opportunities to kickstart their professional journey, discover their strengths and gain hands-on experience.”

The internship program concludes with a capstone presentation and the chance to win a $1,000 scholarship. The project is an outlet for the participants to showcase their personal growth since beginning the program. Students present to executive leadership, divisional directors and other influential Do it Best team members. Presentations are evaluated based on organization, visual appeal and delivery with an emphasis on the impact for members of the co-op, and the winner is awarded the scholarship.

“This scholarship acknowledges Ethan’s dedication and hard work put in throughout the summer,” says vice president of human resources and general counsel Gary Furst. “I look forward to welcoming more students to the program next year and nurturing the talents of our future professionals.”
