Costello’s Ace Hardware recently made a big impact, contributing to hunger relief in many of its store regions. The store’s September fundraiser, Round Up to Fight Hunger, raised a total of $21,314, supporting local food banks and hunger relief efforts in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.
Throughout the month, customers could round up their purchases to the nearest dollar at checkout. Over 46,000 customers donated to the cause.
“This campaign is proof that small change makes a big difference,” says Joey Costello, director of strategic partnerships and philanthropy at Costello’s Ace Hardware. “Every time an associate asked and a customer said yes, it helped us get one step closer to supporting local families in need. We are incredibly proud of our team and our communities for stepping up in such a meaningful way.”
The top-performing cashiers, Audrey Crotty, Jan “Chris” Parmentier, Linda Edstrom and June Corominas, all from Costello’s stores in Long Island, have been invited to represent Costello’s Ace Hardware at the Annual Island Harvest Taste of the Harvest Gala in October.
“Celebrating our associates who go above and beyond is just as important as celebrating the dollars raised,” says Mike Costello, CEO of Costello’s Ace Hardware. “Audrey, Jan, Linda and June embody what it means when we say Costello’s Cares. Their leadership at the register inspires us all.”
