As a thank you to its loyal customers, Carr Hardware hosts a “Carr-nniversary” weekend every year to celebrate another year in business and give back to local organizations.
Last Year, the company, which has eight locations in Massachusetts and Connecticut, celebrated 93 years in business. The Carr-nniversary celebration included product demonstrations and raffles.
Each location also gave customers the option to round up their purchases during the month of November and sold branded buckets during the anniversary weekend, with all funds raised going to community organizations.
Carr Hardware donated over $7,200 to Avon Gifts of Love, Educational Resources for Children Inc. and the Berkshire Humane Society. Gifts of Love also received buckets of donated food from the stores’ canned food drive.
“I’m proud of our organization for supporting local nonprofits that make a profound impact within the community,” says store manager Thomas Yankura. “We are a community business that believes in giving back; it has been part of our core culture for the past 93 years and always will be.”
