Builders FirstSource Raises $1.6 Million for Blood Cancer United

Builders FirstSource recently announced that its 2026 charity event raised approximately $1.6 million for Blood Cancer United. This marks the 20th year of the Builders FirstSource partnership with Blood Cancer United, which has helped raise more than $19 million for critical research, patient support and advocacy programs dedicated to advancing treatments and cures for blood cancers over those two decades.

Held Sept. 30-Oct. 1 in Irving, Texas, the event featured a keynote speech by Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Mike Singletary, who shared inspirational anecdotes from his childhood in Houston, Texas, and his career as an NFL player and coach. Attendees also heard the emotional story of four-year-old cancer patient “Mighty Mabel” Manthey, as told by her mother, Sarah.

Following Sarah’s moving message, Builders FirstSource CEO Peter Jackson and chief operating officer-designate Mike Hiller presented Blood Cancer United with a check for $250,000 on behalf of the Builders FirstSource Foundation, a private charitable foundation introduced earlier this year.

“At Builders FirstSource, our Purpose is to build a better future for those we serve,” says Jackson. “We are grateful to our supplier partners, customers and team members whose generosity brings that purpose to life through their ongoing support of Blood Cancer United. For 20 years, they have helped advance the fight against blood cancers, and we are proud of the impact we have made together.”

Builders FirstSource will continue its support of Blood Cancer United throughout the remainder of this year through various fundraising initiatives, including the Light The Night® walks in Dallas and other locations across the country.

“Reaching 20 years of partnership with Builders FirstSource is a milestone worth celebrating,” says Dr. Andy Kolb, President and CEO, Blood Cancer United. “Over the past two decades, their team members, customers and supplier partners have demonstrated what is possible when a community comes together around a shared purpose. Their dedication has helped advance lifesaving research and critical patient support programs, creating a legacy of impact that will be felt for generations. We are honored to have Builders FirstSource as a partner in this work.”
