Are You Looking to Sell? Valuation Is the First Step

Are you looking to sell your business, but you don’t know where to start? The North American Hardware and Paint Association (NHPA) has launched a new service to help home improvement owners looking to sell their businesses. Gary Pittsford, CFP®, partner and chief valuation officer of Castle Valuation, a division of Creative Planning, can help guide you through the valuation process as a first step. This new service complements the existing NHPA Retail Marketplace seller listings.

“The number one issue I hear when a retailer approaches me about selling their business is that they don’t have any idea what their business is worth. We wanted to help solve this problem in an economical way, which is why we partnered with Gary Pittsford, the face of valuations in the home improvement industry,” says Dave Gowan, NHPA chief financial officer and executive vice president of business services. “Valuing a business is one of the first steps and is the most important step in selling a business.”

What is the NHPA Retail Marketplace?

NHPA frequently receives inquiries from retailers who are looking to sell their stores, those who are looking to acquire additional stores and those who are looking for key talent in a challenging employment landscape. We created the Retail Marketplace to give operators a cost-effective way to advertise their businesses for sale, their interest in buying or open job positions.

You should know what your business is worth.

Our Valuation + Seller Listing package will provide you with a business valuation and a seller listing on the NHPA Retail Marketplace where you can advertise your business to 40,000 independent home improvement retailers.

Get your Valuation + Seller Listing package today for $10,000.

The price includes a valuation for a business with up to two stores and a public seller listing. For larger operations or private listing options, additional fees apply.
