A Century-Old Hardware Store Continues Under New Leadership

For over 100 years, Paschal Brothers Hardware & Lumber has been a cornerstone in the Jacksonville, Florida, community. Corey Hunt, longtime vice president of Paschal Brothers, recently purchased the operation with a renewed commitment to continuing the store’s legacy under its new name, Hunt Lumber & Supply.

Since 1924, Paschal Brothers has been serving hardware customers with an extensive offering of quality

Corey Hunt began working at the store in 1998 as a floor sweeper and trash collector. Recognizing his work ethic and trustworthiness, Hunt’s mentor and former owner, Larry Paschal, hired Corey on the team, where he was quickly promoted to store manager in 2004. Larry entrusted the store to Hunt, and when he became terminally ill, he envisioned Hunt taking over the operation. Larry instilled wisdom and many lessons in Hunt that he still carries with him today.

“Larry taught me it’s important to do the little things if I am going to become good at the big things,” Hunt says.

Hunt emphasizes that while the store may have a new name, its values and commitment to the Jacksonville community will stay the same. The store’s new motto, “Same Team, New Dream,” will be the vision for Hunt and his team as all employees remain at the store. Brian Gasset will now serve as vice president of operations, Dyllan Miller will serve as store manager and Hunt’s sister, Ashlee, will continue to manage the store’s account and administration.

“This is more than a store—it’s a piece of Jacksonville’s history,” Hunt says. “I’m proud to honor the legacy of Paschal Brothers while building a future for Hunt Lumber & Supply.”
