Friedman’s Announces 2 Executive Appointments

Friedman’s Home Improvement, which operates four locations around Northern California, announced two new appointments to its leadership team.

Sushil Singh has been appointed as vice president and Jake Wilson takes on the role of vice president of merchandising and replenishment.

Singh is an accomplished technology executive and brings deep retail innovation expertise, including large-scale e-commerce modernization. He has 23 years of experience in scaling platforms and managing hundreds of thousands of daily orders.

Serving as senior vice president for Wilco for the past 26 years, Wilson has a strong foundation of retail operations. He brings broad experience across merchandising, marketing and business operations that will continue to support Friedman’s managed growth.

“We’re thrilled to welcome both Sushil and Jake to the Friedman’s family,” says Barry Friedman, president and CEO. “As we approach our 80th anniversary next year, we remain committed to evolving while staying true to our people-first values. Sushil’s focus on digital transformation will strengthen our newly-launched e-commerce platform, while Jake’s proven leadership in merchandising positions us to deliver even greater value to our customers.”

Singh and Wilson’s appointments continue the strategic expansion of its executive team, which was most recently bolstered with the addition of Shannon Swartz as vice president of sales and operations. Swartz, with nearly 20 years of experience in retail, executive coaching and continuous improvement, oversees all store operations and sales at each Friedman’s location.

Friedman’s executive leadership team now includes:

  • Barry Friedman, President and CEO
  • Jeff Schryver, Chief Financial Officer
  • Lynn Ichinaga, Vice President of People & Culture
  • Sushil Singh, Vice President of Technology
  • Jake Wilson, Vice President of Merchandising & Replenishment
  • Shannon Swartz, Vice President of Sales & Operations
  • Laura Sparrow, Vice President of Marketing & Customer Experience
