Layered Lighting
According to Wipro Lighting, layered lighting is achieved by combining ambient, task, accent and decorative lighting elements in a space.
This LED undercabinet light bar from aspectLED serves as ideal task lighting in a kitchen, with a low profile, up to 116 lumens of light and dimmable features. The strips come with mounting clips to snap under any cabinet and come in three light color options.
The Metal Tree Floor Lamp from VIVZONE adds a contemporary accent to any living space. The lamp features four leaf-shaped lampshades, a metal base and a foot switch for on and off control. The lamp positions can also be adjusted by rotating the center lamp pole.
Sustainable Design
For homeowners looking to begin their rainwater harvesting journey, this 55-gallon rain barrel tank from Tank Depot is a compact and durable option. The tank features a 16-inch lid, a ¾-inch brass spigot and is a dark green color to help reduce the growth of algae and other microorganisms.
These Solar Pathway Lights from Rinkit Ltd. are each made with a 2V 20mA amorphous silicon solar panel, one LED bulb and a stainless steel pole. The lights come in a pack of five and are designed with a spike for easy insertion into the ground.
Painted kitchen cabinets
Benjamin Moore’s French Press paint is a moody brown-black that mimics the color of espresso beans. The color pairs well with icy grays and works in kitchens with ambient lighting.
Dayroom Yellow from Farrow & Ball is a cheerful butter yellow paint that has a matte, multisurface finish. The paint is recommended to be primed with white and light tones and contrasts well with all-white accents.
