According to data from Houzz, an online design trends platform, 88% of homeowners hire professionals to complete renovation projects in their homes. Houzz found the top factors homeowners look for when hiring contractors and designers to work on their homes. Take these into consideration as you partner with contractors and professionals.

48% of homeowners report finding trustworthy construction and design professionals as a challenge. Getting clear estimates and proposals is a difficulty for 34% of homeowners, and maintaining timely and accurate communication was reported as a struggle for 30% of homeowners.

After renovations start, 41% of homeowners report that a clear project timeline would have greatly improved the overall renovation process and 40% report wishing they had better communication from hired professionals. Knowing how a finished space will look and how to pay for projects are also top needs often left unmet.

Homeowners prioritize trust, clear communication and accurate timelines when hiring professionals for renovations. Addressing these key factors can significantly improve the overall renovation experience for both homeowners and professionals involved.
