3 Shopping Trends Customers Expect This Holiday Season

The holidays are just around the corner but many consumers have already started checking off their holiday shopping lists. U.S. News & World Report shared three shopping trends consumers can expect as they purchase gifts, decor and more for their holiday celebrations.

As you prepare your business for this holiday shopping season, consider implementing one or more of these shopping trends to serve your consumers this holiday season.

Host multiple Black Friday events. Rather than just one day of crazy sales, extend the savings over several Fridays. While it creates more work for you and your staff, it helps spread out the number of customers shopping at a time and can give you the opportunity to restock popular sale items.

Offer larger discounts to loyal customers. If you have a loyalty program, offer extra holiday discounts to members of your program to reward their faithfulness to your company and encourage new customers to sign up for the program. These discounts should be in addition to the normal rewards or discounts you offer through the loyalty program.

Boost Buy Online, Pickup In Store (BOPIS) capabilities. Customers have become accustomed to conveniences like BOPIS, and will continue to want these amenities as they holiday shop and may even want to use it more to save time during this busy season. If you offer this option, be sure you have enough staff to cover the potential extra customers and utilization.
