Are you looking for ways to help new managers or supervisors find success in your operation? The Leading Your Team course, part of NHPA’s Foundations of Leadership program, can help give new leaders the confidence, knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
Foundations of Leadership is an online, college-level leadership development program for new and upcoming managers. It is designed to fit students’ busy schedules and features collaborative online learning with communication from instructors and other students.
Students will walk away from the nine-week Leading Your Team course with insights into the critical components of building and leading a team, including communication skills, conflict management, talent development and ongoing performance management.
Topics will include:
- Constructive conflict and communication skills
- Developing talent
- Team building, including selection and performance management
- And more
Students will also complete a real-world capstone assignment for their business where they will apply all of the knowledge and skills they have learned throughout the course. The project will focus on solving a problem or capitalizing on a missed opportunity in the business.
“There are so many critical factors when it comes to leading teams, and this course provides the necessary framework for success,” says Scott Wright, executive director of NHPA’s Advanced Retail Education Programs. “Whether you are new to leading people or have been doing it for years.”
