True Value CEO to Deliver Keynote at 2019 National Hardware Show®

The National Hardware Show® has announced John Hartmann, president and CEO of True Value, will serve as a keynote speaker at this year’s event, held May 7-9 in Las Vegas.

Hartmann’s keynote speech will take place Tuesday morning, May 7, on the stage in the North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) Village located in the Central Hall lobby immediately following the Show’s opening ceremony.

“Our industry is rapidly changing, and the National Hardware Show is the perfect place for both retailers and manufacturers to come together to address this transformation,” Hartmann says. “I’m honored to discuss how the independent hardware retailer is well positioned for growth and profitability at the show.”

Hartmann’s keynote speech is titled “Unlocking True Value” and will highlight how the process of returning the majority of its members’ equity has offered retailers the opportunity to invest in their businesses. He’ll also speak about how a new company structure has enabled True Value to accelerate strategic investments without cutting into retailers’ profits.

Hartmann has served at the senior executive level for more than 25 years. He joined True Value in 2013 and led the company through the establishment of a new strategic plan focused on critical reinvestments in the business. Recently, he led the company through a change in business structure to unlock more than $230 million in shareholder equity.

“We are honored to welcome John Hartmann as one of our keynote speakers,” says Rich Russo, industry vice president for the National Hardware Show. “John’s extensive experience will inspire exciting conversation between retailers and manufacturers about the ever-changing hardware and home landscape. NHS will most definitely be a must-attend place for our industry to learn about trends and innovations in the hardware space and beyond!”

Registration for the 2019 National Hardware Show is now open. From now until March 15, 2019, buyers and retailers can register to attend for free.
