Amazon is launching “Overhaul,” an online series that tracks the progress of YouTube video creators as they remodel their homes. The decorations, furniture and other products used in the episodes will also be available for purchase directly through Amazon, Business Insider reports.
The online retailer has partnered with Kin Community, a web video production and advertising company, to produce the show. “Overhaul” is scheduled to premiere in September.
Each episode of “Overhaul” will be hosted by Christiane Lemieux, founder of online furniture retailer Dwell Studio. Each episode will feature a home renovation project from a different YouTuber. The first two YouTubers will be baker Rosanna Pansino and beauty blogger Teni Panosian.
The show marks a new entertainment strategy for Amazon, which has focused on creating and purchasing scripted television programs in recent years. The show will be featured on Amazon Home, a special section of the retailer’s website, reports Business Insider.
“Amazon Home is constantly looking to innovate and find ways to bring our customers inspiration when searching for products,” says Kristiana Helmick, director of home innovation at Amazon. “The ‘Overhaul’ series is a great opportunity to provide our customers with some curation and guidance when searching through our large selection of products, and we continue to look for new and different ways to do that.”
