Do you ever wonder what makes your store a customer favorite?
Well, according to research from The Farnsworth Group, an Indianapolis-based market research company, consumers who list independent home improvement outlets as their favorite stores say customer service endears them to the businesses.
The study shows consumers’ other top favorite characteristics of independent home improvement stores include “easy to find merchandise,” “knowledgeable employees” and “good sales prices.”
Study participants who list big boxes as their favorite stores says the reasons are the “good selection of products,” “convenient location” and “in-stock position” that attract them to the format.
These insights were just part of the research delivered by The Farnsworth Group’s Jim Robisch last year during the North American Retail Hardware Association’s State of Independents Conference, sponsored by the National Hardware Show®.
This one-day event provides a platform for the industry to gather and discuss and learn about the independent home improvement retail marketplace. Throughout the day, proprietary market research is presented and combined with live discussion panels with leading industry retailers.
Robisch will be one of the presenters again at this year’s State of Independents Conference, which is scheduled for Dec. 8 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago.
For this year’s State of Independents Conference, Robisch will be sharing new research on why the in-store experience is still so important to consumers in today’s e-commerce savvy society in a presentation titled “Why the Store is STILL Important.”
The State of Independents Conference is open to all channel members, but is completely FREE for retailers to attend. Breakfast, lunch and cocktails are provided. Seating is limited and preregistration is required. For more information or to register, please click here.
