Target Brings Small Stores to Big Cities

As more and more people flock toward large-metropolitan cities, big box retailers like Target don’t want to be left behind.

While Target has moved on from operations in Canada, the retailer is planning on opening more of its quick-service TargetExpress stores, which are about 20,000 square feet. The company is seeking to reach customers who move to city centers and don’t want to leave the city to shop, according to an article by Fortune.

The first TargetExpress location opened its doors last July on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, the article says. In the next year, Washington and Chicago will have TargetExpress locations as well.
