Home Depot Improving Customer Service With Technology

The Home Depot is supplying store associates across the U.S. with new hand-held devices to help customers look for products, but also to track data and use like typical smartphones.

Employees will be able to use the next generation FIRST Phone, a Zebra Technologies Device, for product lookup and inventory management purposes. The devices also serve as phones and walkie-talkies, as well as providing Internet access and business analytics, according to an article from the home improvement retailer.

The Home Depot has issued 40,000 of the new devices to U.S. stores in preparation for spring selling, allowing workers to provide more efficient and better customer service, the article says.
