Westlake Ace Promotes Finance Executive

Tony Jones

Westlake Ace Hardware recently promoted Tony Jones to vice president of finance and controller.

He replaced the retiring Pam Samulcek, who had served as vice president of finance and controller since 2006.

In his new role, Jones leads all finance and accounting functions for Westlake Ace Hardware, including budgeting, acquisitions, and financial planning and reporting. He also manages the company’s accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and banking teams.

Since joining Westlake in 2016 as senior director of financial planning and analysis, Jones has led the company’ss monthly business reviews and oversees the financial model the hardware retailer uses for evaluating growth opportunities. Additionally, during the past four years, he implemented a system to enhance the company’s pricing analysis platform.

“Tony has made a positive impact at Westlake since he joined the company in 2016,” says Joe Jeffries, president and CEO. “He is a consummate professional, a great leader and a valuable member of our team. His skills and insights are invaluable as Westlake Ace continues its growth trajectory, expands its footprint and enhances the lives of store associates and customers in the communities we serve.”

Prior to joining Westlake, Jones was director of financial planning and analysis for DineEquity, the parent company of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar and International House of Pancakes. Before that, he held management-level finance positions with Applebee’s and YUM Brands.

“This is truly an exciting time to be associated with Westlake Ace and I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity,” Jones says. “The growth Westlake Ace has gone through during the past several years has been nothing short of phenomenal.”

Westlake is part of Ace Retail Holdings, which is a subsidiary of Ace Hardware Corp., and is headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas.
