Westlake Ace Hardware is partnering with The Salvation Army to keep those in need cool this summer through their annual Fan Drive, a campaign that provides new box fans to families and individuals in the summer months.
The campaign, started as a grassroots effort in 2012, runs for three weeks. Customers can support the campaign by rounding up their purchases at any Westlake Ace Hardware location, with all collected funds going directly to purchasing fans.
“From the beginning, the Fan Drive has made a tangible difference in the lives of people across the country,” says Joe Jeffries, president and CEO of Ace Retail Holdings. “Our customers’ generosity continues to inspire us, and we’re proud to help provide relief to those who need it most. Giving back is part of who we are.”
The Fan Drive raised $108,000 and provided more than 6,000 fans to communities across the U.S. in 2024. Today, donations are accepted at 157 Westlake Ace stores.
“Something as simple as a fan can mean everything to someone facing extreme summer heat,” says Commissioner Merle Heatwole, national commander of The Salvation Army. “Thanks to our partnership with Westlake Ace Hardware, we’re able to provide immediate, tangible help to neighbors in need.”
