Walmart Rolls Out Light-Up Digital Shelf Labels

Walmart recently announced Shop to Light, a new in-store feature controlled by the Walmart app to help customers easily find items on the shelves.

Customers can use the Walmart app to ask for help finding an item, and the request will illuminate a small LED light indicating where the product is located on a shelf. Shop to Light also helps associates see where to stock items in the store (Stock to Light) or which items to select for online orders (Pick to Light).

Walmart rolled out its digital shelf labels earlier this year, with 2,300 stores using the technology. The company emphasized that the Shop to Light feature does not change the price of an item, as the functions are separate from the electronic shelf labels.
