Walmart Announces Digital Shelf Label Rollout Across All U.S. Stores

Walmart recently announced plans to roll out digital shelf labels (DSLs) in every store within the year, adding to the around 2,300 Walmart U.S. locations already using this technology.

DSLs are designed to help ensure accurate, consistent pricing, while helping associates save significant time by eliminating the manual task of changing prices. Through Pick to Light LED technology, Walmart employees can find items on the shelves faster. LED lights are also used on shelf labels for employees to quickly identify where items need to be restocked.

This initiative adds to Walmart’s suite of technological upgrades launching this year, including an AI-powered shopping experience for customers in collaboration with Google, providing personalized shopping recommendations.
