HR management company Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) confirmed a ransomware attack impacted several services companies use to manage their employees and payrolls. According to a statement on the UKG website, the cyber incident disrupted the Kronos Private Cloud, which includes UKG Workforce Central, UKG TeleStaff, Healthcare Extensions and Banking Scheduling Solutions.
The company became aware of the suspicious activity on December 11 and immediately took action to investigate and mitigate the issue. While the company works to remedy the issue, the Kronos Private Cloud (KPC) solutions will be unavailable. The company advised customers to implement alternative business continuity protocols and is offering support through the UKG Customer Support Team, an update page, the UKG Kronos Community and the KPC incident resource hub.
“We are working with leading cyber security experts to assess and resolve the situation, and have notified the authorities. The investigation remains ongoing, as we work to determine the nature and scope of the incident,” says executive vice president Bob Hughes. “We deeply regret the impact this is having on you, and we are continuing to take all appropriate actions to remediate the situation.”
