U.S. Residential Construction Sees Positive Growth

The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Urban Development recently released data showing positive residential construction statistics for February 2025.

Privately-owned housing starts in February 2025 reached 1,501,000, measuring 11.2% above the revised January estimate of 1,350,000. 

Privately-owned housing completions in February were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,592,000, 4% below the revised January estimate of 1,659,000. Single-family housing completions were reported at 7.1% above the revised January rate of 995,000 at 1,066,000.

Every region in the U.S. except for the Midwest showed positive growth. The Northeast registered a 75% bump in single-family builds and a 47.4% month-over-month increase in total starts.

The West also showed growth, reporting a 26.2% increase in total starts and 20.3% growth in single-family starts.
