Red River Lumber and Texas A&M University-Texarkana recently joined together to offer university courses at a discounted rate to Red River Lumber employees.
“Texas A&M University-Texarkana aims to support local workforce development and provide educational opportunities for area businesses,” says Adam Pettit, marketing director at Red River Lumber. “By partnering with Red River Lumber, the university can help the company’s employees advance in their careers while strengthening the region’s talent pool.”
Employees can choose to take any course available through Texas A&M University-Texarkana, Pettit says, and can pursue undergraduate or graduate degrees, professional certifications or individual classes.
The partnership, officially launched on Feb. 11, 2025, was designed to make continuing education more accessible. Red River employees do not have to pay application fees and receive reduced tuition rates for courses taken.
“Several Red River Lumber employees have already expressed interest and are making plans to take advantage of this opportunity,” Pettit says.
