Stine Home + Lumber Celebrates Grand Opening of Expanded Location

Stine Home & Yard recently celebrated the grand opening of its new, expanded location in DeRidder, Louisiana, marking a milestone in dealer’s nearly 50-year history in DeRidder.

The grand opening celebration, held Sept. 29 through Oct. 4, followed the store’s soft opening in June and featured six days of customer appreciation events, vendor demonstrations, giveaways totaling $30,000, food and family activities. The week was highlighted by an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Oct. 2, along with a special appearance by Louisiana social media personality Stalekracker.

The new store sits on a 15-acre site directly behind Stine’s former DeRidder location and encompasses approximately over 122,000 square feet. The facility includes a 79,700-square-foot main store, approximately 30,000-square-foot lumber drive-thru and approximately 12,600-square-foot garden center.

“This investment represents our continued commitment to DeRidder and to providing our customers with the products, service and expertise they have counted on from Stine for generations,” says Wendy Stine, president of Stine Home & Yard. “We are proud of what our team has accomplished with this new location and grateful for the support this community has shown Stine for nearly 50 years.”

The grand opening provided an opportunity for Stine to celebrate that history alongside its customers, associates, vendors, and members of the local community. Throughout the week, vendors prepared food and demonstrated products for customers, while Stine hosted daily giveaways and activities. Weekend events included children’s activities, a local dance performance, food and refreshments and a grand prize package valued at more than $1,500.

Stine is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2026, having grown from its beginnings in Sulphur, Louisiana, in 1946 to become Louisiana’s largest family-owned building materials dealer. Today, Stine employs more than 800 associates and operates 13 locations across Louisiana and Mississippi.
