Sears Holdings has taken another aspect of its business to Amazon, announcing it will sell DieHard auto products on the e-commerce site, the company reports.
The retailer says it is opening up DieHard to sales on Amazon to celebrate the auto parts brand’s 50th anniversary. Earlier this year, the company expanded sales of Kenmore-branded appliances to Amazon.
“As we have previously stated, we want to diversify the revenue streams of our iconic brands, and launching on Amazon.com will significantly expand the distribution and availability of the DieHard brand in the U.S., building on the success of our recent Kenmore appliances launch on Amazon.com,” Tom Park, president of Kenmore, Craftsman and DieHard brands at Sears Holdings, says in the press release.
DieHard branded jump-starters, battery chargers and maintainers are now available on Amazon, and batteries and tires will be available in early 2018, the company reports.
Sears Holdings has been struggling to maintain same-store sales over the last several years, with the company reporting same-store losses of 15.3 percent for the third quarter. The company announced a restructuring plan in February to cut $1 billion in costs and has sold property and brands as part of the plan.
Sears Holdings sold its Craftsman tool brand to Stanley Black & Decker for $900 million in March as part of the restructuring. Sears Holdings also expanded Kenmore grill sales outside Sears and Kmart stores.
