Retailers Ramp Up Sales to Compete With Amazon Prime Day

This year, Amazon Prime Day will take place across four days from July 8-11 and has prompted other major retailers to respond with their own weeklong sales in hopes to compete with the e-commerce giant.

Target announced it will be bringing back Circle Week, a week dedicated to promoting sales on school supplies, electronics, clothing and more. Circle week will be from July 6-12 this year.

Walmart’s “Deals” event starts at midnight on July 8 and will run through July 13. The sale will offer discounts on large electronics, outdoor items, watches, Christmas items and back-to-school items.

The top deals for Amazon Prime Day are expected to be in the pantry staples and snacks, home improvement, back-to-school, health and personal care, books and pet essentials categories. Amazon will also introduce “Today’s Big Deals” during this year’s event, featuring themed daily drops of product discounts launching at midnight each day of the event.
