Product Picks From the House-Hasson 2025 Fall Market

Hosted in the shadow of the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains, the House-Hasson 2025 Fall Dealer Market sent retailers home with deals to give them a competitive edge and protect margin in their operations. Hardware Retailing editor and director of content development Lindsey Thompson explored the show floor, looking for new and exciting products. Here’s what she found:

Cam-Shaped Scribing Pencil | Handy Scribe

HandyScribe’s patented design makes scribing easier and more accurate. The offset lead allows the user to rotate the HandyScribe to scribe without the use of a compass or any other scribing method, simply turn the pencil to quickly achieve different marking distances. HandyScribe is Made in the USA with globally and domestically sourced material.

“This product caught my eye because at first glance, it seems so simple, but is really a gamechanger for DIYers and pros who do a lot of scribing. The HandyScribe comes in three colors. The black graphite is good for wood, tile, granite and more and the wax-based red works well on tile, granite, laminate and wood and does not wash off on a wet saw while cutting. The wax-based silver is reflective for welders, so it covers a variety of pros.”

Beef Jerky | Old Trapper

Old Trapper Old-Fashioned Beef Jerky delivers authentic flavor in every bite. The jerky is made by slow-smoking lean beef over natural wood and adding just a touch of brown sugar for a subtle sweetness that balances the savory, smoky profile.

“I don’t love beef jerky, but when offered a sample of this one, I decided to give it a try, and I’m glad I did. Typically, I think beef jerky tastes fake and artificial, but the Old Trapper actually tasted like meat and the seasoning was subtle but so good. I also like that it has a lot of protein, something I need to eat more of each day.”

Durkha Puff & Fetch Toy | Durhka
The Durka Puff & Fetch Toy provides cognitive engagement by encouraging dogs to tackle problems and maintain mental acuity, and motivates independent or interactive play to enhance bonding. The toy keeps dogs occupied and lessens destructive chewing, is reusable and microwave-safe and comes with several yak cheese sticks and nuggets.
“This toy caught my eye because I have a 5-month-old black lab who is constantly chewing everything in sight. I had never heard of yak cheese before but when I brought home the sample and gave it to Wellie, our lab, she went crazy for it. You put the yak cheese stick in the toy, heat it up in the microwave and the yak cheese puffs up that your dog can chew on. She has been playing with it nonstop and it has definitely distracted her from chewing my stuff.”

Fertilizer | Coop Gro

Coop Gro Fertilizer is a balanced formulation that includes relatively equal amounts of the major nutrients—nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. It also includes many essential secondary and minor nutrients that aid in plant development and bloom formation and contains 27% carbon, which makes it a great soil amendment to aid in soil structure, water retention and feeding vital soil organisms.

“I have a black thumb, but this fertilizer seems super straight forward and easy to use, I think even I could keep some plants alive. I love that in comes in several sizes of bags—6, 12 and 25 pounds—so you can get just as much as you need. It’s also pet and child-friendly, so great for the whole family to get involved in gardening and working in the yard.”

Women’s Duck Jacket | Berne

The Berne Women’s Heathered Duck Hooded Jacket comes with a heavy-duty antique nickel zipper and triple-needle stitched main seams and the insulated rain-blocker hood and rib knit storm cuffs keep you warm in rain or snow. The pleated elbows and action back extend range of motion and it comes with three inside pockets, a zippered right chest pocket and two front patch pockets provide secure storage.

“I do a lot of work outside in the yard and around the house and thought this would be the perfect work coat. It looked durable, comfortable and was really cute too!”
